We are a year away from election day and President Donald Trump is already campaigning. According to this blog post by the Huffington Post written by Roque Planas, President Trump might be in trouble in Texas, the biggest Red state. Planas is intended audience is Democrats and anyone who is opposite Donald Trump. You can say that there is some bias in the argument since Planas is a liberal writing for a liberal leaning website. Planas claims that he thinks that only reason why Donald Trump visited Dallas last night is because he believes that he is going to lose the state of Texas next presidential election which counts as 38 electoral votes. He supports his argument by saying that he sees lackluster poll numbers and crippling Republican party. He also uses some quotes from Republicans and Democrats. He uses a quote from Rice political scientist Mark Jones. Jones states that Trump is the "worst thing to happen to the Texas Republican party in the last 20 years. He literally turned Texas into a pink state." He also uses a quote from Republican Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen. "With all due respect to Trump, who I love by the way, he's killing us in the urban-suburban districts." As much as I want to agree with this article because I do not support Donald Trump for numerous reasons. We can't believe that he will lose Texas until he actually loses Texas. We believed that Beto O'Rourke was going to defeat Ted Cruz in the senate with all the support that Beto had with Ellen Show appearances and his senate runout. Ted Cruz still beat him without much promotion. But hopefully in about a year this article can become true.
